Lu Weng Temple is located 20 miles north of Handan City, Hebei Province, and is also known as the “Dream of the Yellow Beam”. It is dedicated to the Lu Zu. According to the “Memoirs of the Pillow”, Lu Sheng met the Lu Zu in a guesthouse in Handan. He lamented that he was trapped in a time of hardship and could not achieve his ambitions. At that time, the inn was cooking yellow beans, and Lu Sheng leaned on his pillow and fell asleep. The Lu Zu then gave him a dream to wake him up and went away with the Lu Zu. Later generations built the Lu Weng Temple on this basis, which is large in scale. It covers an area of more than 13,000 square meters. To the west is the Eight Immortals Pavilion, to the south is the screen wall, with the four characters “Penglai Fairyland” embedded in it, to the north is the Danfang (alchemy room) and the lotus pond, with a bridge built in the pond and a pavilion built in the center. To the north of the lotus pond are three main halls, the Zhongli Hall in front, with the Zhongli and Gulou pavilions on either side; the Lvzu Hall in the middle, with a worship hall and a moon terrace; and the Lusheng Hall at the back, with a stone sculpture of Lusheng lying on a bed of green stone. It is now a famous scenic spot for the whole country.
