恒山 道教名山。五岳之一。位于山西与河北两省之间。亦名太恒山、又名元岳、常山北岳。连绵数百里,横亘塞上;主峰在山西浑源县城南,海拔 2,017米;分东西两峰;东为天峰岭,西为翠屏山,双峰对峙,浑水中流险要无比。两峰之上怪石争奇,古树参天,苍松翠柏,葱葱笼笼,风景绝秀。据《云笈七签》卷二十七记载为道教三十六小洞天中的第五洞天,茅山道的祖师大茅真君茅盈曾于汉时入山隐居修炼数载;八仙的之一的张果亦曾修道于此。古有十八胜景,今尚存朝殿、会仙桥、九天宫十余处。为我国道教名山之一。
Hengshan: A famous Taoist mountain. One of the five sacred mountains. Located between Shanxi and Hebei provinces. Also known as Tai Hengshan, Yuan Yue, and Changshan Beiyue. It stretches for hundreds of miles and is located in the north of Shanxi. The main peak is located in the south of Hunyuan County, Shanxi, at an altitude of 2,017 meters. It is divided into two peaks: the east is Tianfengling and the west is Cuipingshan. The two peaks face each other, and the water in the middle is extremely dangerous. The two peaks are covered with strange rocks and towering ancient trees, with green pines and cypresses, creating a beautiful landscape. According to the “Clouds and Seven Signs” volume 27, it is the fifth of the 36 small Taoist heavens. The Taoist Grand Master Mao Ying, the ancestor of the Taoist religion, entered the mountain to practice for several years during the Han Dynasty. Zhang Guo, one of the Eight Immortals, also practiced Taoism here. In ancient times, there were 18 scenic spots, and today, there are still more than ten places, including the Palace of the Emperor, the Bridge of the Immortals, and the Palace of the Nine Heavens. It is one of the famous Taoist mountains in China.
