  重阳前两天，七七投宿鹤林寺，准备施法。半夜里，那红衣女子现身问殷七七说：“道长想让此花开放吗?”七七反问道：“你是谁?半夜到来干什么?”女子说：“我受上界神仙的命令，管理这花。但此花在人间已—百多年，也该回到仙界的阆苑花圃了。现在且和道长—起再开一次，不是有道的人来是感动不—厂我的。”于是女子转眼间便不见了。第二天黄昏．寺中和尚忽然惊讶杜鹃花蕾渐渐放开，到了重阳日，杜鹃花开如春天般的烂漫，急忙报告周宝。满城士女都大觉惊异，又如同春夏间般地赏玩游乐—番，几天后，花朵突然消失了，却没见到有残花落地。
